Tamba-Sasayama’s black edamame is the young, plump green pod of the famous Tamba black soybean, enjoyed before it fully matures into the black bean. Known as the “jewel of autumn,” it comes into season for only about three weeks each October.

With this plan, after check-out we will provide transportation to a local farm where you can enjoy a hands-on harvesting experience. The fields are filled with rows of black edamame plants, each bush heavy with pods, spreading out like a lush green carpet. As you breathe in the earthy scent of the soil and the sweet aroma of the beans in the crisp autumn air, you’ll have the chance to harvest your very own favorite plant.

Each guest may take home one harvested plant. If you boil the freshly picked beans that very day, you will be rewarded with their rich flavor and natural sweetness.
